You sign this statement before going out with Whio Canyoning School. It supplements our terms and conditions, which also apply.

1. Acknowledgement of risks

Canyoning and other adventure activities involve risks, including serious injury and, in extreme cases, death.
Risks include flowing and cold water, falling and slipping on slippery surfaces, falling rock, sudden rising water and hypothermia.
Whio works with experienced and qualified instructors and takes safety seriously, but cannot fully guarantee safety.
Once an activity has started, it is not always possible to stop or turn back straight away.

2. Health and physical fitness

The participant declares to be physically and mentally fit for the activity and understands what it requires.
Medical conditions, injuries, allergies and medication are reported to the instructor before the start.
Taking part under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not allowed.

3. Safety and instructions

Instructions from the guide or instructor are always followed.
The required safety equipment is worn as instructed.
The guide or instructor may refuse or end participation if safety is at risk.
The participant is responsible for expressing doubt, fear or uncertainty.

4. Additional statement for courses

The course participant has a greater personal responsibility for their own safety and that of fellow participants.
Techniques that have been taught are carried out independently and responsibly; when in doubt, the instructor is always consulted first.
The course participant is aware that not every action takes place under the direct supervision of an instructor.

5. Additional statement for the Advanced course

The course participant acknowledges the higher level of difficulty and the additional risks of the Advanced course.
The course participant fully masters the techniques of modules 1 to 3 and applies them independently and safely.
The instructor is not always directly at the anchor with the participant, but oversees the whole and the main risks.

6. Equipment

Equipment provided is used correctly and carefully.
Cleaning or replacement costs may be charged for deliberate soiling or damage.
