Accommodation
At several campsites we visit often, you stay at a reduced rate of €12 to €15 per person per night:
- Camping Flower, Lac Marandan (Vercors, Alps, France)
- Camping Le Canigou (Canigou, Pyrenees, France)
- Camping Ascou la Forge (Ariège, Pyrenees, France)
At other locations we find a campsite or house near the canyons, depending on what the group prefers. The costs are shared by all students. This mostly applies to spring and autumn course weeks.
Meals
You choose between two options:
- Cook together. We cook and eat together and set up a shared food kitty on site. The instructors join in too.
- Eat with the summer team on site. No cooking or shopping for you; you do help with washing up and tidying. Breakfast and lunch: €7.50. Dinner: €7.50.
Transport
Travel to the location is at your own expense. On site we drive to the canyons in the cars available. Fuel costs are shared among the students, usually based on €0.21 per kilometre.
Arrival and departure
All dates include an arrival and a departure day, so you have time to settle in and you travel home well rested. There is always a rest day between two modules.
Intensity
Course days are intensive. There is a lot of new information and a new canyon every day. We often start early and finish late. You learn fast, but there is less time to rest, so we match the canyons to the energy level of the group.
Free access to the course material
When you sign up for a course you get free access to the online course material, the downloads and the members' shop. Want to keep access after the course? Join the Whio Canyoning Team.
