These terms apply to all courses, training days, canyoning meetings, coaching and other activities of Whio Canyoning School (hereafter: the canyoning school). By signing up you agree to these terms.
1. Registration
- You sign up using the registration form on the website.
- You receive an acknowledgement by email. Your registration is final once the canyoning school has confirmed it.
- If an activity is full, you are placed on the waiting list. If a place becomes available, we will contact you.
- You are responsible for providing correct and complete details.
2. Prices and payment
- Prices are listed with each activity on the website and include VAT.
- Travel and accommodation, meals and on-site fuel costs are not included unless stated otherwise.
- After confirmation you receive an invoice. Pay it within 14 days and in any case before the activity starts.
- If the invoice has not been paid when the activity starts, the canyoning school may refuse your participation.
3. Cancellation by the participant
Cancel by email. The date of receipt counts. You then pay:
- up to 6 weeks before the start: €50 administration fee
- from 6 to 2 weeks before the start: 50 percent of the price
- less than 2 weeks before the start, or if you do not show up: the full price
By arrangement, someone else may take your place if they meet the participation requirements. We recommend cancellation insurance.
4. Changes or cancellation by the canyoning school
- Safety comes first. In case of high water, thunderstorms, bad weather or other circumstances, the instructor may adjust the programme, the canyon or the location. This does not entitle you to a refund.
- If there are too few registrations or an instructor drops out, the canyoning school may cancel an activity. You will then be offered another date or a refund of the amount paid.
- The canyoning school does not reimburse costs you have already incurred, such as travel and accommodation.
- The instructor may exclude a participant from (part of) an activity if they pose a danger to themselves or others or do not follow instructions. There is no right to a refund in that case.
5. Participation requirements and health
- You can swim and are in good health.
- You report in advance any medical conditions, medication, pregnancy or limitations that may affect your participation.
- Participants under 18 need written permission from a parent or guardian.
- You always follow the instructions of the instructor.
- Participation under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not allowed.
6. Risk and liability
- Canyoning is a sport with risks, such as falls, slips, moving water, falling rock and hypothermia. By taking part you accept these risks.
- You are required to have travel and accident insurance that covers canyoning, including the costs of rescue and assistance.
- The canyoning school is not liable for damage, injury, loss or theft, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. Liability is in all cases limited to the amount paid out by the canyoning school's insurance.
- You are liable for damage you cause to equipment of the canyoning school or to third parties.
7. Equipment
- Rental equipment is provided in good condition and must be returned in the same condition.
- If you bring your own equipment, it must be in good condition and suitable for canyoning. The instructor may reject equipment.
- Loss or damage due to careless use may be charged.
8. Photos and videos
Photos and videos are taken during activities, including for the course material and the website. If you do not want to appear recognisably, let us know in advance.
9. Privacy
We only use your details for your registration, running the activity, invoicing and your access to the course material. We do not share them with others, except where needed for your participation, for example with a campsite or with emergency services.
10. Complaints
If you have a complaint, report it to the instructor as soon as possible, or afterwards by email to canyoningschool@canigououtdoor.com. We will respond within 14 days.
11. Applicable law
Dutch law applies to these terms and to all agreements with the canyoning school.
