Day 3: Swan Creek

Klaar voor een nieuw avontuur! We lopen langs het meer naar de voet van de canyon. Hier beginnen we aan de hike omhoog, vlak langs de canyon. Ongeveer halverwege vangen we een glimp op van een hoge waterval in de canyon. Yes, er zit sowieso iets tofs! Met nog meer energie en enthousiasme dan we al hadden, vervolgen we onze weg om dit van dichtbij te ontdekken.

Voor we het weten, lopen we de canyon in en kunnen we van start. Wat we vanaf de kant zagen, wordt in de canyon werkelijkheid. De route bestaat voornamelijk uit hoge watervallen, wat zorgt voor lange abseils. Door de relatief lage waterstand zijn de passages goed begaanbaar, en we dalen in razend tempo af. Voor we het weten, staan we alweer aan de voet van Swan Creek en zit onze tweede first descent van deze expeditie erop!

Ready for a new adventure! We walk along the lake to the base of the canyon. Here, we start our hike up, right next to the canyon. About halfway, we catch a glimpse of a high waterfall inside the canyon. Yes, there is something awesome here! With even more energy and excitement, we continue to explore it up close.

Before we know it, we enter the canyon and get started. What we saw from the side is just as amazing inside. The route has mostly high waterfalls, which means long abseils. Because the water level is low, the canyon is straightforward, and we move down quickly. Soon, we are already at the bottom of Swan Creek, and our second first descent of this expedition is complete!
